Breakfast at Sophie's Cafe, Dubai
Sophie's Cafe is a home-grown concept created by Whissle, the leading hospitality group in the UAE responsible for award-winning brands such as OKKU and CLAW.
Its brand new location at Metro Central Hotel, Al Barsha Heights, serves a fantastic selection of wholesome and healthy dishes that's either Gluten Free, Dairy Free, or Vegan. Yum!
Ambiance
We arrived at Sophie's, a charming & cosy cafe right inside Metro Central Hotel, just after 9AM. The decor was simple and "natural", the lights were perfectly lit, and the music played so soothingly in the background. Everything was well-placed, and although it wasn't a huge area, it didn't feel or look crowded.
What I love best about coming to Sophie's was, I felt at "home".
What We Ordered
Rise & Shine Smoothie
We love Rise & Shine! It was perfectly blended, didn't feel too heavy but also wasn't too light, and it was just super (super) tasty.
If only we could order 5 more, we would've!
It's Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, and Contains Nuts
Ingredients: Banana, dates, cinnamon, gluten free oats, chia seeds, almond milk
Price: AED 26
Fluffy Pancake
Although it wasn't as fluffy as we expected it to be, we were extremely satisfied with this one. The sides came separately and it was perfect!
It's Gluten Free and Contains Nuts.
Ingredients: Almonds, Berry Compote, Organic Maple Syrup
Price: AED 44
Banana-Oat Power Pancakes
Ahhh this was heaven on earth! Need I say more?
It's Gluten Free and Dairy Free.
Ingredients: Organic Rolled Oats, Banana, Egg, Honey, Cinnamon
Price: AED 38
Eggs Atlantic
Although it didn't really match up to our expectations, the eggs were perfectly cooked and it had a really delicious finish to it.
Ingredients: Smoked Salmon, Poached Eggs, Hollandaise
Price: AED 55
Big Breakfast
Oh this big breakfast didn't disappoint! Although I'm not a big fan of the corn fritters, I loved everything else, especially the hash brown!
Ingredients: 2 Eggs (your way), Hash Brown, Corn Fritters, Sautéed Mushrooms, Home-Style Beans, Grilled Tomato, Veal Bacon
Price: AED 60
Although Sophie's Cafe seem to be a little bit on the expensive side, I love how everything was so organic, healthy, and fresh. And despite it being all that, the food was still exceptionally delicious! The quantity was also great - it wasn't too heavy or too light, unlike other breakfast meals we've had. The portion sizes were perfect.
Would I have breakfast here again? Of course! But probably also try out their full meals too.
Thank you Sophie's Cafe & TishTash for inviting us over!
