Dubai Food Review | The Surf Café, Jumeirah Beach Road

“Eat well, be well” is the motto of The Surf Café that is founded by Claudio Leenders. It is perfectly located nearby Kite Beach, hence the name “Surf” Café.

Ambiance

Once you enter, you’ll be ushered upstairs via lift or stairs. From there, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome whilst immediately attending to your needs. The Surf Café has a perfectly unobstructed view of the Jumeirah Beach Road, which makes the ambiance even more relaxing. Coupled with soothing playlists and friendly staffs, The Surf Café almost feels like home.

On one side, you’ll notice a number of surfboards carefully placed on the wall, a huge vintage wall clock, classic light fixtures, and a mini bar at the center, giving off that simple but elegant, tumblr-ish surfer vibe. Instagram worthy? Definitely.

Food

Surfers Breakfast (c) Sarah Zonio, 2016

For breakfast, they offer healthy bowls, big breakfasts, and the delicious Breakfast Wrap with Homemade Hash Browns. But for an ultimate surfer feel, taste their Surfers Breakfast. It is vegetarian with eggs cooked to your liking and a choice from ILLY Cappuccino, Single Espresso or Organic English Breakfast Tea. Also served with fresh fruits, toasted light rye bread, yogurt, gluten-free pumpkin muffin and orange juice, you’ll definitely not go wrong with this one.

The Surf Café’s PM Food is even more exciting with an extensive list to choose from. They have seafood (where you can choose either live or fresh), salads, and heavy meals. Their Homemade “Aussie” Beef Pie is a favourite! But wait, it’s actually tough to choose a favourite here because everything’s so utterly delicious that it will leave you speechless and just wanting for more. Seriously.

For the finale, we haven’t tried their dessert but I bet it’s all as amazing as the rest of The Surf Cafés foods. So instead, we tasted their bestselling tea called Orange Safari. We were advised to let it sit for a minute or two and wow. The smell is heavenly! Orange Safari is composed of orange, infused leaves and vanilla. Plus, it is organic!

Bonus: Every Wednesdays, from 6-9 PM, The Surf Café offers 20% off from their Sushi Bar Menu. Don’t miss it!

Overall, it was such a pleasant experience to dine in at The Surf Café and for sure, we will come back again. Also, a very big thank you to our amazing servers Angelo, Berna, Frances and Raj. They say, how servers treat you can make or break your experience. Well, they definitely made it! Shukran, The Surf Café!
