Dubai Food Review | No. 3, Boxpark
Being born out of the obsession for waffles, No.3 decided to skip the traditional breakfast routine and dive straight into something new – sweets and savory.
No. 3 is named after the number of businesses already established by the owner. Hence, this is already their third business released in the market.
Ambiance
Located along Boxpark, No. 3 immediately catches the attention of any passerby with its gigantic snake & ladder board game flat laid on the ground. Open between 10 AM – 11 PM on weekdays, and 10 AM – 12 AM on weekends, diners flock here to enjoy the funky and relaxing ambiance.
No. 3’s quirky interior with bold street art décor makes this restaurant an instant Instagram-worthy place to dine in.
Truly, while waiting for our lunch to be served, we were taken away in a whole new dimension snapping photos of the place and its vibrant theme.
Food
The place’s obsession for waffles couldn’t be more obvious than No. 3’s menu options. Regardless of that, we were still caught off-guard with the amazing presentation, generous servings, and mouthwatering ingredients of each dish. This is definitely the best definition of “waffle heaven on earth”.
Kamikaze is Crispy Waffle Fries with Kimchi sauce, BBQ ground beef, and spring onions, drizzled with No. 3’s very own Kamikaze sauce.
Even after letting it sit for a couple of minutes, its texture was still as crispy as it was with flavours bursting from everywhere. Kamikaze is your next go-to dish. No doubt, we’ll keep coming back for more of this.
When you hear Mac and Cheese, most times, you immediately get thrown off the bus by its overly cheesiness. But not No. 3’s Waffle Pocket with Mac and Cheese. Its Waffle Pockets were easy to bite on and the Mac and Cheese has just enough cheesy flavour to it.
The Classic Cheese Burger is one of No. 3’s bestsellers with melted Monterey Jack cheese and cooked to perfection burger patty. It is huge, but definitely a great value for money. They don’t even lie about the burger patty being cooked to perfection because every bite releases all the juiciness this burger patty has.
Dessert will always be the most anticipated event for us. But then, it either takes the spotlight and shines on its own, or leaves us with very disappointed taste buds.
No. 3’s Red Velvet is presented on a heart-shaped red velvet cake, topped with raspberry and chocolate bites, and frosted with cream cheese. This definitely left us speechless and the only thing on our mind was, “no one could ever possibly hate cream cheese on a Red Velvet.”
For our finale, we sampled No. 3’s Lotus. For the past few months, lotus has generally been the talk of town. It’s a legend, a soul mate, and the star of any show. No. 3’s very own version of the Lotus didn’t disappoint. With their homestyle Belgian Waffle sandwich and Caramel Lotus Mousse, you’d be tempted to lick off every warm toffee lotus left on the plate.
Overall, No. 3’s attention to making sure they don’t rock the boat too much on the portion sizes and exploding flavours left us with very happy, satisfied and (truly) stuffed tummies. This restaurant cannot be missed, whether you live close by Boxpark or as far as Abu Dhabi. No. 3 may as well be our next waffle haven.
