Dubai Food Review | Parker's, Al Khazzan Park
The thrill of going through endless Snapchat updates and driving to long distances just to find the Golden Key, to dine at the exclusive Parker's, is beyond tiring and takes up a huge amount of your time but heaps of fun. What exactly did we do to find the Golden Key?
Parker's is a recent pop-up restaurant located at Al Khazzan Park, across City Walk. Inspired by a similar concept as #FindSalt, behind Parker's success are the founders who formed Salt. The concept behind finding the Golden Key is the privilege of unlocking exclusive access to this restaurant. The rules are simple: Follow ByParkers on Snapchat and find the Golden Key. Too easy? Well, guess you'd have to go and find out for yourself and see what the catch really is.
Ambiance
An open area inside Al Khazzan Park, it is not difficult to fall in love with this place. The trees surrounding Parker's give off a cool breeze to the guests, and the relaxing environment makes us feel like we're just in the gazebo enjoying the company of family and friends.
Whilst approaching Parker's, we were welcomed with a "Hello. How are you?" by not just one person, but by everyone near us. Everyone was smiling and ready to start a small conversation, making us feel at ease.
Almost similar to Salt, Parker's is also set up like a food truck where you give your orders to and collect from. There were lights hanging above as if it was straight off from Tumblr. The containers were Rainbow cans, and the name tags and numbers were all made from cardboard! DIYs, here they come!
Gaining new friends are made easy by Parker's, with the staffs kind and eager gesture to get to know their guests. While waiting for our food, we chatted with Jen and Julie, and Big T even complimented the shirt I was wearing! Such great and fun people. Their positive energy and enthusiasm makes us want to keep coming back to Parker's... but hey, what about the food?
Food
The Crunchy Chicken was no lie really crunchy! It was literally loaded with fries and thick cut chicken, we had to squeeze it tight to not let all these delicious stuff flow out.
This ChocoxCoffee slider is quite small to be priced at 25AED, but we're guessing it's part of the marketing. But hey, it worked! We love the ChocoxCoffee so much we bought three! How could we even complain when a slider like this tastes so good? We recommend you eat it immediately while it's still hot, to let the chocolate and coffee sauce sink in. The beetroots are also surprisingly very crunchy! One word to describe this masterpiece? Perfection
That feeling you get when your dessert really tastes as delicious as it looks good in photos. Yes, this Lotus Pudding doesn't lie at all! The lotus crackers with the cold vanilla ice cream, mixed with warm melted peanut butter is pure bliss. It is not too sweet, but not boring either. The flavours are perfectly balanced to satisfy one's sweet cravings.
The Golden Key definitely unlocked another food stop for us here in Dubai!
Are you itching to try this new pop up but too busy to search for the key? No worries! Parker's has recently launched its lunch options and gladly welcomes everyone with no key, daily from 12:00PM-7:00PM.
Make it fast though, because come summer Parker's will be moving out of Al Khazzan Park to its new location, Dubai Mall. So while you can still experience the park joys, stop by at Parker's and grab some lunch, or dinner, or both!
