How to Travel from Toronto to London On A Budget (Without a Car)
Getting around Canada could be quite a ride especially if you’re on a budget & don’t have a car.
Let alone, traveling from Toronto to London, Ontario. Apart from car, another option available is through the Via Rail - which comfortability-wise is a perfect way to get around, but could also break your wallet if you’re trying to keep the expenses slim.
So, what’s the next best option, you ask?
Megabus.
For 2 pax, roundtrip, we paid only CAD 129.34 (as of January 6, 2024).
The seats were comfortable and we reached London in a breeze.
How?
1) Book your trip through the Megabus site here.
2) Choose your From & To destination
Note: there could be more than 1 stop to where you’re heading down to, so make sure you book the nearest stop possible!
4) Once done, fill up the rest of the details and that’s it!
What to Keep in Mind:
1) If you’re not too iffy about sitting anywhere vacant in the bus, you can choose to not reserve a seat - it’ll save you couple of bucks
2) We boarded the Megabus from Bay St., near Union. Location here: Save this location!
3) Make sure you’re at the bay at least 15 minutes before departure time, as they usually start boarding early and leave the station on time
4) Keep your reservation/ confirmation email on hand - they check all these details before allowing you to board
5) Travelling time took us around 2 hours
The steps are pretty straightforward - just make sure you board and get down at the right stop! We missed ours at London, so it can be quite tricky especially if it’s your first time.
Once you’re ready to head back, just repeat the same steps and you’re good to go!
Have fun :)
